Our research explores how chemistry can be redesigned to be cleaner, more transparent, and environmentally responsible by integrating polymer chemistry, photochemistry, and continuous-flow technologies into coherent platform systems. We are particularly interested in developing benign-by-design polymers and metal-free organophotocatalysts that harness visible light to drive chemical transformations under mild, energy-efficient conditions, enabling processes that are both scalable and sustainable. Rather than treating materials, catalysts, and reactors as separate elements, we embed function directly into polymeric architectures and flow-based reactionware, allowing chemical processes to be precisely controlled and monitored in real time through advanced analytical techniques such as size exclusion chromatography, mass spectrometry, and NMR spectroscopy. This integrated approach provides mechanistic insight into polymer degradation, pollutant transformation, and photochemical reactivity, bridging fundamental molecular design with practical environmental and industrial applications. At its core, the work is guided by a simple principle: chemistry should not only be innovative and efficient, but also responsible, with materials and processes designed from the outset to consider their full lifecycle, environmental impact, and societal relevance.
